WTF Gold?

Ok, I knew you could hack gold before to 1.03 Patch because I think I brought the explanation to the CoD forum but today I witnessed no less than 60 people in total using it, on M16's Commando`s AK74u's and L96A1's, Now this is pissing me off for two reasons;

1)I hate hacking, its unjust, sad and just shows you dont have the skill to unlock a camo or an emblem

2) getting called a hack when you pick up the said golden gun and get a kill pisses me off just because my non gold M16 ran out of ammo.

If you know anything please let me know, its a long shot but ill post a thread on CoD.com

Yeah, there seemed to be an explosion last night of guys with Gold weapons, and possible wall hacks going on. It seems to be creating quite a bit of a stir, so I'm sure Treyarc will hear about it pretty quickly. And going by their record to-date, will do something about it.

For now, just anyone you see with a gold gun, or a level 15 etc. Check their combat record. If they have less than say 10 days played, just report for cheating and/or boosting. It's pretty much impossible to get to P15 in less than that. And 3arc are actually taking action based on these complaints. So if someone gets bucket loads of them, they'll get banned and knocked back to Level 1 sooner.

Also, along the same lines, I've become somewhat of a dictator (another bad pun today!!! :eek: ) about reporting idiots for Nazi emblems or ones that are properly offensive. If you're one of them, know that you'll get reported when you play with me! I don't really give a fiddlers about the "hilarious" Monkey screwing a giraffe ones. If kiddie humour floats your boat, fair enough. But racist crap like the Nazi stuff gets an auto-report from me.

Its so widespread id say they wont do anything about it, Too many people to ban. makes going the whole way to 15th pointless as im sure most people where doing that for the gold guns

gold camo dont make you a better player though, long as people arent interfering with the actual gameplay wouldnt bother me whats on peoples guns

getting gold camo doesn't require skill, you just have to keep playing the game and keep prestiging.

Does having a gold gun make it more powerful?? No.......it means fcuk all, its just a different camo. You need to relax and just play the game

My attitude is if they'll use the lesser hacks they'll use the bigger ones that interfere with the game,like the care package glitch in mw2.Thats why in general I report anyone I suspect of hacking.
As far as I'm aware there's a few different hacks out there but guys have got a little bit more smart about them and aren't advertising them as much as they did with mw2.Alot of the time you have to be a member on alot of the forums and they're only posting utube vids as proof instead of sending the olde msg to all friends and recent players,in an attempt to avoid getting reported as easily.
reading on other forums Treyarch seem to be taking no crap and resetting prestieges and banning people from the emblem editor,so I'd expect a fairly big ban hammer on the way before the new maps.

Everyone knows gold camo doesn't improve your play, its just a symbol of power in the game, a form of bragging rights, like 'yes I have gold camo, what of it?' :pac: I can understand how people are angry about these hackers taking something they don't deserve when committed players are trying their hardest to get it.

i just don't like the way it makes the whole getting to fourteenth prestige thing redundant, same as the tenth prestige hax in mw2.

Exactly this!! I thought it was gona be rare to come across gold guns and theres a prestige to it, but not if this hack isnt sorted:( Il prestige anyway till 15 but I was really looking forward to my gold bling.

this was patched last night, it is a 2 step process, so when they logged in last night they got the patch however they would still have their perks and gold camo, BUT the next time they reboot the patch activates and they then loose the perks and camo..
Hopefully we will see this alot less today

Tis the same as the emblems in MW2 sure.
I make a point to go through each lobby for loosers who paid for emblem unlocks and have the spinning skull one because of it and then report them for cheating. If they are trash talking I like to let them know too.

PERSONALLY, it doesnt bother me. I'm not one for all this status crap. Its a game, you cant have any "cool" status in a video game ffs. I prestiged once to unknock the extra challanges and thats it. Been on level 70 there for the last year but it DOES take away from those who genuinely want to earn and show their skill levels. While I dont see point to it I wouldnt begrudge that from anyone with skill enough to unlock all these emblems by bypassing the hard work they put in.


ON rundown the othrnight and some kid with a clan tag "tupac" something or another with a really cockney accent was trash talking in the lobby before the match. Last prestige level 70 with spinning skull. Told him he was sad for buying emblems and what not... match begins (domination) and he ends up 20 something deaths to 4 kills. Hmmmm , clearly you can buy emblems but not skill. He left the lobby very quickly indeed.
