I was wondering if anyone could recommend a simple but attractive way to lay out your CV. Mine is very boring, but any time I ve used those templates, I get formatting issues, for example, the text goes all over the place when the recipient opens it.

    Hi roisin,

not sure what area your into or what stage your career is at......see attached. It's a sales CV template. Note that it may not be suitable for entry level positions.....hopefully it will give you a flavour of how best to build it and sell yourself effectively.

Pack as much information in as possible with no white spaces. So says a recruiter that I met last year.

    Best of luck.....

    Hi Roisin

see attached template with instructions from www.careervision.ie

Remember to keep cv focussed on your passion and the job role requirements. The aim of a cv is to get you an interview. If it fails, then bin it and start again.

    Good luck
    Elaine

Thanks a lot! I have a few years experience in different fields and recently finished a postgrad. I was also wondering about the cover letter, since it's been ages since I had to do one. Should I still put my address and all on it (and that of the employer) if it's sent by email? Or is the date enough? How long should it be? I'd normally do about half to two thirds of an A4 page, like two long paragraphs and then a short one at the end detailing my availability for interview.
