anyone have any idea(estimate/guess) roughly how much it would cost to buy and pay to fit a 2nd hand engine into a 04 corolla? 1.4 petrol heading to collect it in a few hrs and have no idea how much i should be expecting to pay!?

You are insane if you didn't agree a price in advance. They could ask for megabucks.

Don't mind at all! It cost 750 euro - and its actually running better now than it did the day I bought it! Same litre engine but just seems to have more power :)

I reckon it was probably the case that whatever caused your engine to go was adversly affecting its performance from the day you bought the car.

By the way I reckon you done very well to get an engine supplied and fitted to a 2004 Corolla for 750 quid all in

    Thanks.

I know a place that can replace those engines fairly reasonably and can supply the engine if needs be. PM if you need more info
