    hi folks,
i have a 06 fsi golf and the ABS pump needs replacing. the local dealer is charging 1000 to replace it, which i cant afford. I can get it repaired by a garage in dublin but they are charging 500 just to repair the part.I need to get one from a car breaker or scrap dealer i think. i am based in galway. I am going to ring around and see if any car breakers has one. Alternatively, can any suggest anywhere else that i should go looking for this part?
    thanks in advance.

The were all prone to faults so you are probably better off getting it repaired,a second hand one would be a false economy.

What is the exact failure / code its showing up?

There's another thread on here a few weeks ago. The person managed to get the pressure sensor for the pump for €30 and got it sorted.

Second that. Some guy that works in a VW dealer (i think) said there is now a repair kit for the pump and it reduced the cost considerably.

    ok that is great news,
any idea where i can get that kit?
do i need to get it from the dealership?

just for completeness, after running the diagnostics on the car, it returned the following error:-
    01435 brake pressure sensor 1 4201

I don't know I'm just going on a post here a while ago. You'd think the dealer would know about it if it was available. I pesume they ruled out the other possible causes? http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01435
