Triton T90si - alternated between hot and cold every 30 secs

Our Triton T90si shower at home is acting up. It alternates between throwing either very hot water (too hot to stand under for any length of time) out for ~30 seconds and then cooler water for 20 seconds before returning to very hot water again.

I've tried taking the shower head off and steeping it in vinegar (to remove build up of lime scale which is the issue here I've always assumed) for a few hours which solves the problem for about 5-7 days but the problem always reappears.

Can anyone advise if this issue is indeed being caused by lime scale or if there is something else I should be looking at?

At a guess i would say the thermal cut out, temperature valve or solenoid valve is on the blink, have seen it numerous times since the frost kicked in :(

It's a simple enough fix if this is the problem, you can get any of the above parts from a good supplier and install yourself. Alternatively Earthridge, who are the main supplier in Ireland, can arrange a service call but that could be costly. If you know a plumber they might be able to narrow it down?

I've had the same problem. It was defo the limescale, had to leave it steeping in vinegar too. Worked though.

Have you cleaned the filter in the shower as well.

Was your water off recently - sounds like air in the pump - Had this problem recently with a triton t90xr and that was the cause. bleed screw beside the filter. Turn off power first.
