NCT Failed - Wishbone bushes

    Hi all

My 99 Corsa failed it's NCT on Saturday after the visual inspection showed the wishbone bushes are worn. It sailed through all the diagnostics thankfully.

Could anyone give me an idea how much (roughly) this would cost to put right? Also, would a mechanic normally check alignment when the work is complete? I will have to have the side-slip test redone when the work is completed.

    Thanks in advance

Not a whole lot. I don't know specifically about the corsa but I got my front wishbone bushes done on my golf a few months ago for about €100 - main dealer job.

Unless the Corsa is exceptionally complicated you should sort it for around €100 or less incuding alignment. A lot of mechanics would be able to do the tracking after fitting the new bushes.

Thanks for that, €100 or thereabouts I can live with. I just wanted an idea before I go looking for quotes as I don't know much about the working parts of cars. I should also have said it was just the front bushes that need replacing. I'm thankful it shouldn't be wildly expensive.

I'm in Lucan. I had looked online at the cost of the parts and they come in fairly cheaply at around €5 each but I am aware labour will be the big cost. I'm more than happy to pay a fair price but at the same time wary of being ripped off because of my ignorance.
