Tachometer needle...

    Greetings.

New around here, so hello all!

Got an annoying little problem with Mrs. Goose's 1999 Citroen Xsara. It had a little battery "moment" during the big freeze-up there, and while it fired up (just) after being idle for about a week in the cold, the tacho and speedo needles did a sort of "Mexican Wave" at the time, and the tacho (rev counter) needle is now stuck UNDER the rest-stop! Aaaaaaghhh!

Anyone encounter this before with the same or similar car? How does one reset/reposition/kick the instrument panel and maybe sort this?

    Thanks!

Well, after ignoring this in disgust for about six months, I finally stripped out the damned dashboard and removed the instrument binnacle. Turns out it's made by Sagem - go figure. Anyway, it wasn't that unpleasant, considering that the bloody thing is French. It's all T20 Torx holding it together. The actual repair consisted of holding the binnacle at various peculiar angles until the wretched needle was back where 'twas supposed to be! :D
