Hi Guys, had a good search on the web but cant find many Alpine audio dealers around. Would appreciate any recommedations you might have either here or the rest of the EU.

I know its outside the EU, but I ordered an Apline PDX-F6 amplifier from www.sonicelectronix.com and it arrived in about 4 days. They're also super cheap too, RRP is $900 and they had it for under $500.

    Thanks i'll check that out.

Edit: Your right they really are cheap. Only downside is I'm buying this head unit http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_20622_Alpine-iXA-W407.html and the radio will have the wrong tuning steps , I wonder can it be changed to EU firmware ?

If you will buy it outside of the EU, you must be really lucky to get away with the VAT and custom fees which arnt cheap ...

Very true Marko, even with those included its still a great deal if its possible to solve the tuner/rds problem.

Sorry, no clue about the firmware. I got hit with VAT which you're 100% guaranteed to be with UPS, factor in 21% and you're sorted.

Thanks, I got a reply from Alpine who say the hardware is different so a US import will only work so well on the radio side . Its a shame as the price was so good . Looks like I'm going with http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/home.html as suggested earlier , the other guys say they cannot ship outside Uk even though ROI is listed on their website (go figure)

Thanks for all the help guys , I'll have the present XDA001 up on adverts soon I hope :)

Went with http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/home.html for the head unit and got a mate in the states to get me the processor imprint unit from Sonix. Got in touch with the Alpine distributor here in Dublin and their "trade" price was higher than the UK retail ?

Just an update on this, the imprint unit and cd/mic kit sourced from Sonix in the USA work no problem with the EU Alpine unit.

I thought the imprint unit would be good but I'm surprised by how much it improves the sound quality. I have my old alpine unit on adverts.ie if ayone is interested.

Thanks for your input but this has been covered already in the thread. Qualvecom were no help at all even though I've carried out work for them in the past.

Scansounds wanted 899 euro for a unit selling for £480.00 in the UK and $350.00 in the US
