    Hi,
The Dual Mass Flywheel is on the way out on my 07 Passat 2.0 Tdi. I have seen a few posts on here regarding Walsh Motors in Belfast but I was wondering if anyone has found a garage in the Midlands or Dublin who are doing this job at a decent price.
Or maybe I should just take a day off and head to Belfast.

^^ That seems a bit pricey for walsh motors,

Cant vouch for this place but, they did 'Quote me happy' when I was making a few calls for a clutch and DMF.

In their January Special they list

Scoda Octavia 1.9tdi 2000-2006 dual mass flywheel+clutch kit fitted €500
Would this be the same as the Passat ??

My passat is a 2 litre. I'm going to get my engine number and give them a call for a price. I think I'll get them to service it and check my brake pads too.

Anyone in the trade here know if this would usually be covered in the usual 3 month engine&gearbox warranty?

Yes, it should be. A DMF is not a wear and tear item, unlike say a clutch where the damage caused could be directly linked to your driving style. There is no way your driving style could cause a DMF to fail.

I'd be asking for it to be covered under warranty, and if the dealer are having none if it, its time to talk to your solicitor.
