Ive Decided to upgrade to a super fast ssd drive.

have my eye on theOCZ 60GB Vertex 2E

the only thing holding me back is the new sandforce SF-2000 based drives.
These are expecting to be availalbe in Q1 2011. These will probally drive down the price of the current ssd drives.

what do you guys sould i wait or buy now

    I would wait myself.
We haven't seem much of an improvement in GB per euro so as you say it may drop the price of older gen or even get a better drive for the same money as you will spend now.

Got the 60gb vertex 2 myself. Fantastic piece of kit. Great speeds and decent value.

Intel X-25M 3rd Gen SSDs should be out in Feb.
Should match Vertex2 performance, offer longer lifetime, lower write amplification, larger capacities and hopefully a lower price point.

I hadn't considered an SSD for my new build until seeing this.
That 60gb vertex 2 looks like good value @ €120
