I run one every year for the league (which I will be posting this evening).

Its based on predicting the winners of league fixtures on a weekly basis and bonus points for accurately predicting the winning margins as well as predicting promotion/relegation from the outset before the league starts.

Yeah great Blackbelt i saw it on here last year but was too late to enter.. Any prizes for the winner... Did you enter the one in the star last year yourself and what did you make of it.. Hopefully a few of the newspapers will run ones this year.. These comps make the league a whole lot more interesting..

I heard from people who entered the competitions in The Star, that it was a joke. Not sure how reliable that is but it seemed slow to update at times and that it appeared inaccurate.

As for our league competition on Boards,it would be too hard to organise prizes for the winner.I would love that to be the case but even so we just do it for the laugh and bragging rights,a bit of fun really but we see who can predict form better than others etc.

I love running it and we have the championship pools but I find the sheer amount of games week in,week out during the league more interesting when running a pools competition.

Well in fairness the star had the leaderboard in the paper every wednesday and i always thought they had the scores accurate. The only fault i had was that there was players that should of been on the selection list, not there, and players were on the list who were no longer on county teams.Hopefully they run it this year again, i find theres not enough fantasy gaa games out there and i think there would be huge interest if time and effort went into setting up a decent one. Just ask urself how many people you know that are in the fantasy premier league comp on the internet, i know quite alot of my friends are. Anyway lookin forward to entering your comp blackbelt.....

Facetheball.com has started their prediction leagues now, you can also set up your own mini league with them.

The Star have launched their new Fantasy GAA competition for 2011, with a top prize of €10,000. The runnerup receives €5000 with an additional €1000 for third place.

Just discovered you can make unlimited entries to the Star Fantasy GAA Competition (For Free!!) :D

    As GAA_Punter said
    1st Place - €10,000
    2nd Place - €5,000
    3rd/4th/5th - €1,000 each

Then a weekly prize of €100 for top scores

best advice is to get them in before the matches start this saturday to gain the most points from week 1 ;)
