    * A millionaire (originally and sometimes still millionnaire) is an individual whose net worth or wealth exceeds one million units of currency. It can also be a person who owns one million units of currency in a bank account or savings account. ...

To me, a person with a bank balance of at least €1,000,000.

If you can write a cheque for a million, and get it cashed in three days, then you're a millionaire.

It's actually incredibly easy to become a millionaire in this day and age. Why I'm a millionaire myself.

So what your saying is that if i owned every house on shrewsberry lane but didnt have a euro to my name,i wouldnt be a millionaire.. being a millionaire means that if you sold all your assets right now at current market values, you would have over a million

I know what Millionaire means, I just don't agree with it. It's why I said ''To me'' at the start of my post. It's my opinion.

I remember reading in 2007 that Ireland was home to over 30,000 millionaires. But by that stage I'm sure there were loads of people in possession of property portfolios worth over 1 million euro in total, even though their bank balances might have "only" been 200,000 or whatever.

Pffffttt a million, , sure thats only walking around money. :p

To me a millionaire is someone who could walk into their bank and walk out with with 1,000,000 in cash. Of course thry could well be a bank robber but they would still be a millionaire :D

A couple of months ago while my OH was here she mistakenly opened my bank statement instead of her own ( we have accts at the same branch of the same bank and they often arrive together).
She red-facedly handed me the statement with an apology, then switched on her laptop and began surfing, only to announce to me shortly afterwards that I'm a millionaire....

    .... a ruble millionaire.

    She's Russian!!

Unless you had a million punts or Euro equivalent you aren't a millionaire. A million euro is only worth about 787401.57 real moneys. Or $30 us dollars.

    €1,000,000 = US$1,335,944.93
