    Hi there,

We're replacing our oven and hob and on a tight budget. This samsung combo that's on offer in DID seems hard to beat for a decent brand.
Has anybody heard anything about Samsung cooking appliances? Or this particular model? Would hate to save a few quid now and have to fork out for repairs and callouts a few years down the line...

Done a fair bit with them -they Are a good mid range appliance
hob is a slight bit off standard so you might have to trim existing opening slightly

It's a touch control hob and twin fan oven

Read the instructions cause a few features are different but I have no bother recommending them

One word of advice -if you go with there install service request to view there insurance -not one of there installers is qualified in electrics
As with any touch control electronic device one loose wire can cause havoc and can be costly so always use a qualified person to install and commission the appliance

Thanks for that, I'll just need to measure up because we are just replacing the old ones but keeping the good (and expensive) granite worktop. If it doesn't fit then it's not worth touching the worktop.

Mr Borderline does all the electrical/diy around the house. He's a bit of a whizz when it comes to electric/mechanical/engineering.

Go into the shop with your own measuring tape and lift hob and measure underneath ,then meaure your count to and see (vice versa)

Quick update. We went into our local DID last Saturday afternoon, we had lifted our hob out and got the exact measurements of the opening (thanks Knighted_1) with us.

The very helpful salesman went around and lifted out every hob top and measured to see which would suit us best. The original choice samsung wasn't an option as it would fall a few cm short.

We ended up getting a bosch package oven/hob for €599, and having looked at bosch prices in our local "expert" store seems like excellent value for a premium brand.
