Def a nice piece of jewellery. It doesn't have to be mad expensive, whatever you can reasonably afford, but it's something she will have forever and will remind her of you and your new baby.

    Maybe a necklace or bracelet.

    Congrats btw!

How about a heart shaped locket with a picture of the baby inside and the babies date of birth engraved on the back.

    Congrats!

My husband got me a piece of Lladro. I like Lladro though, I know a lot of folks don't.

give her a card or letter and write in it exactly how you feel, how much you love her and your new son and how proud you are of her. This should be easier to do now than ever when your all gooey with the excitment of becoming a dad. Telling you this will be worth much more than any of the above!!...You can be guaranteed she'll keep it forever :)

If you do want to give her a gift too I'd go with the locket with pics...nice touch....but don't forget the card/letter !

    Congrats

Hair dressing voucher and jewelery (I hate jewelery) because there are things you will not have money to spend on for the next year!

Great to have a new hair do after being pregnant and having your hair tied up all the time.

My missus had our first 10 days ago and I got her this mothering pendant, pricey but in fairness to my wife I couldn't pay enough for the effort of pregnancy/labour and our newborn
Its got her's, mine and our sons birthstones

My husband got me a treasure ring. It's a solid ring engraved with your child's name, and date of birth and it has the child's birthstone and a little diamond. It hangs from a lovely chain. I love it, and wear it daily. The chain is strong enough that I never have to worry about it snapping when my now toddler decides to grab it. You can order them from treasurering.ie. Worth a look if you haven't already decided what to get.
