    Hi all,

I'm currently in OZ after taking a year out from exams. I finally got through the P1 stage in April last year. I hadn't been working in a year and things weren't looking great. I decided to come here and hopefully when i got back things would be looking better.
Alas that is not the case.. At the mo i dont have to sit exams until Feb 2012, however I'm considering spending an extra year here.

Does anyone know what would happen in this instance, would i have to start from scratch when i do return home?? Or is it just easier go home and get them done!! I have looked into doing them here but that would mean settling to one spot which might not work out.

Any advice would be great. :)
    Thanks!

I think if it's only a year you should be able to keep your P1's. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do the exams over there. I also think that the CPA Ireland recently signed mutual recognition agreement with CPA Australia.

Thanks for that, they did sign an agreement recently. To apply for CPA here you have to fill out a form of all your experience and pay a fee and then they'll tell you where in their programme you can start from. It would be great if i was settling in one spot long term.
