Child supervision at sites?

    Hello,

I have had a search around and can't find this anywhere so maybe some site owners or knowledgeable folks here might be able to help me out.

What I would like to find out is is there any policies in place, for sites, with regard to child supervision in term of adult supervisors for numbers of under 18's, like those that apply to other areas where there must be an adult for every 8 children etc.?

I ask because I am looking into running games/ opening a site possibly and would be able to judge how many adult marshalls I would need.

    Thank you,

Your best bet would probably be to get in contact with the IAA.

The minimum age of players tends to be dictated by the site's insurance, and a lot of the insurance details are contingent on specific guidelines put in place to further protect the players, and thus reduce risk (and likelihood of a claim arising).

Generally speaking there has to be at least 2 adults with a group of children, or single child. This is for child protection, to reduce instances of inappropriate behaviour. Realistically speaking it is in place to protect the adults should any accusations be made. In a game like airsoft, I cannot see it being possible to enforce, as people are free to go their own way. But I just said I'd post it nonetheless.

Thanks for the replies guys, I shot the IAA an email today to see what they say and will have a chat with the insurance company too, I know what you're saying with the child and adult alone situation as I've dealt with that as a swim teacher, I will give a ring around some of the sites perhaps to see if they have policies in place.
