Anyone got any panniers and/or heavy duty racks they're willing to part with? Steel racks and ortlieb panniers by preference but I'm open to other stuff. Just trying to sort out what I can get second hand before going and ordering stuff from the UK. Other bits that're a long shot are hubs, mtb front ones with 36h, longer shot is 40plus hole rear hubs, I'm building myself a new touring wheelset as you may gather.

    Thanks

Wouldnt a good alu rack be better? Less weight and less flex too?
The only 40+ hole hubs I know are 48h track hubs, but they could easily be converted to be road spaced screw on type.
I think 36 with good DT swiss champion spokes should be fine really.
I find those spokes great even under my weight :D

Oops, meant to post this in the adverts section, to be moved..

I'm going for steel racks for the welding issue, can be fixed by anyone cos I'm planning a tour far far away. Same reasons for the 40 spoke wheels, I'm going for these ones: http://spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s117p1517 if I don't get any in the next while, plus Rigida sputnik rims for ultimate bombproofness. The only steel racks seem to be incredibly expensive is the problem, 100 quid plus so yeah I might have to go for alu ones in the end.

Yep, a surly too, it's nice and all but the colour is rotten, it's beige, going to have to put loads of stickers on it. Should have it next week some time.
