Merging 2 iTunes - artwork problem

Ok, it probably wasn't the most efficient system but I have been running 2 versions of iTunes on 2 separate computers, one on a PC for syncing with my iPod the other I started on my laptop when I got an iPad. :o

Well today I decided to amalgamate the 2 versions on to the laptop as I am sick of having to go in to the back bedroom and open up the PC to download some music. I copied the iTunes music folder from the PC to the iTunes music folder in the 'host' laptop. Of course this means that not all the artwork or playlists came through.
I know I am missing a step, something to do with the library file? But am worried that I might make a mess if I just overwrite the existing library file on the laptop with the one from the PC. My preference would be to bring through the artwork, playlists and ratings so if anyone can tell me how that would be great.

But failing that if I have to go and add the artwork to the albums again there's only around 10 or 20 but I don't have jpg files for them. Is there a way I can get the jpg files out of the old iTunes?
