I just want to say well done to everyone involved in organising today's event. It was a credit to the home club, Tullamore Harriers, and I also have to credit the AAI. All arrangements were excellent from the parking through to the course.
The course was a genuine cross country course with excellent underfoot conditions which lead to some fine performances. Michael Mulhare was the clear winner of the men's novice title with Eilish Kelly (Raheny) taking the women's title. There was a home winner in the boy's U-19s with Liam Brady running away from Jake Byrne. Mary Anne O'Sullivan (Tinryland) outsprinted Mary Mulhare in the U-19 girls. Sean Tobin (Clonmel) was convincing winner in the U-17 boys from Shane Fitzsimons (Mullingar). The performance of the day was surely Amy O'Donoghue in the U-17 girls winning by 50 metres from Siofra Cleirigh Buttner who was 100 metres clear of the third placed finisher.
The day ran like clockwork and I look forward to returning to the venue in the near future.

Was a really well run event. My first time running the national novice. Was a bit of an eye opener as to the standard that exists out there. Where are all these lads during the road or track season ? I dont know.

Well done all. I enjoyed it today.

my thoughts exactly , let's hope they stay there, I don't fancy scraping into the top 100 at every race, seriously the standard is something else. The numbers made it feel like a real cross country, the start was chaotic, great stuff

Well done Tulllamore! Sorry for carping but AAi results don't add up, at least in the Girl's U19 club results - I see Raheny are claiming victory on their website but they don't even appear in the results. Finn Valley have a 39th place finisher in their team but only 34 finishers are listed?
I know the Club/County/Region makes it more difficult than usual to process theses race results but surely somebody in AAI will put the current system out its misery!

There is definitely a typo in the results for the U-19 girls. The club results look like a previous years results, 2008 to be precise. They obviously use the same template every year and someone in admin forgot to make the changes. Raheny won the team easily from North Laois. Only four teams took part.

Finn Valley had no team in the U-19 girls race. Typo error i suspect
