I just have had my car turned down for MOT. The problem was the back brakes were not balanced. I had already put new shoes on it and put in new brake cylinders on both sides.
The tester said something about valves in the front of the Corrola's caused problems.Has anybody came across this problem? What part do I require to rectify the problem?

    Thanks for any help

was it the foot brake or the parking brake that wasn't balanced? I've often seen it with the parking brake and only needed adjustment of the cable.
If its the footbrake and the shoes cylinders are good perhaps the rear shoes have not bedded in properly on one side yet (especially if the drum was in poor condition) how many miles since they were fitted?

    Hi thanks for the reply.
Its the foot brake that isnt balanced a 50% difference in them.
The shoes have done 2000 miles since they were changed. The last time it failed they were only fitted and the inbalance was the same.
Do you think its a drum in poor condition or could it be these valves the tester spore about or what would call them.
