Apologies if this is in wrong forum mods...seemed like the best one for this sort of question.

Just curious as to where people buy their tools, where does good quality, what brands people consider to be good quality durable brands etc

looking for torque wrenches at the moment...need a large range approx 5-300Nm...will need to buy more than one but don't want to buy poor quality

any good online shops that deliver here in ireland etc?

I use Teng tools only for hand tools.

Sealey for workshop tools and equipment.

Have a look on sealeypower.co.uk. Half the price of suppliers here.

Whatever works - some good, some cheap (useful for when you need to make something).

Halfords professional range get good reports from abusers of tools - lifetime guarantee.

Curiously I've only three teng tools and 2 have broken on me.

I've had a sealey ratchet for years, ditto a draper "expert" set, both have taken dogs abuse and kept going.

Old "king dick" "elora" and the like are worth picking up at sales.

Halfords professional and advanced stuff is ok if you're on budget.
Nothing has broken on me yet, and I'm using 4 ft iron pipe on the ratchets sometimes for leverage :-)

    OP
Keep an eye on amazon.co.uk. Great diy tools on there from good brand names. If you order over 50 quid there are free delivery options. Just bough a lovely Draper socket from them and a set of spanners. Got the lot for 65 quid delivered. Couldn't believe it.

(Free delivery is a serious bargain when buying tools just cos of the sheer weight involved)
