Kitchen Sink Plug Hole Grill Removal.

    Have an old s.s. sink and and the plug hole grill (for want of a better word) :D has a cross head screw in it. I've been told that removing this will allow access for cleaning.

    Is this wise, as surely the whole flange would have to be rebedded in paste afterwards to prevent leaks.


    Never seen this kinda set up b4, there is the normal grill/grid and seems like another one below this which the trap is connected to so maybe this allows the top grid to be removed for cleanng....

    I would advise not if your not capable of putting it back together.

    Bleech down the plughole and overnight helps with cleaning.
