Windows 7 Home Premium- Convert for Netbook?

    Hi all,

I have the 3 licence upgrade disk for Windows 7 Home Premium. Is there any way to install this OS in a 'lite' format for my netbook as the solid state HD is very small.

I was hoping I could download the OS from Microsoft and then use my existing product key but no joy.

I have an external DVD drive I can use if necessary.

    Thanks!

There are utilities that can be used to cut down your Vista or 7 installation media to "lite" versions, but they're not sanctioned by MS and therefore not suitable for discussion here.

That being said, if you're struggling for disk space it sounds like you would be better off looking into Windows 7 Starter, the version that's usually used for netbooks.
