    hi guys
    I have a HP pavilion dv9000 which is affected by the NVIDIA chipset manufactoring problem (for more info read here), this is making my laptop very unreliable.
    I went to some laptop repairer and he said there are 3 options:
    1) get a new NVIDIA chipset made after 2009 -> 200 euro
    2) get a reflowing (the contacts are redone) -> 160 euro
    3) do nothing about it

    the problem with option 1 is that the old NVIDIA chipsets are not easy to find so it's more likely that I have to go for option 2, but it's only a temporary fix and the problem might arise again in the future.
    Therefore i should go for option 3 and buy a new laptop, but I would also get rid of the old one, do u think i can get at least a couple of hundreds for it? i mean, a brand new Pavilion dv9000 still costs700 if you look on the web.
    any advice is appreciated.

    thanks
