Parking at DUB airport - quick park

Had my ancient 2-seater car broken into & damaged (attempted theft) in the DAA red car park a month or 2 ago, and the authorities (DAA, airport police, gardai) were pretty unhelpful / uninterested, so I thought I'D try quick park .

It's only been once, but I found it fairly easy to book in, cheaper (could pay in advance within 24h of my flight, unlike at the DAA one) at EUR 7 / day, and easy to find. The system's different - if you've booked in, you get a PIN which you need to use to open the barrier both in & out.

I parked up & the bus came just as I left the car, & hopped on. It took a small bit longer to the airport than the DAA red car park (though much much quicker than the blue car park). It drops you at T1, say 50m in front of where the red car park bus parks. Bus seemed slightly nicer than the DAA ones.

On my return around 10:30pm on Thurs, I seemed to just miss one bus, but the next one left T1 within 5 minutes (impressive) & dropped me near my car without driving all round the car park.

So, from one visit, it's a better experience. Maybe next time it won't be so good... but I'll keep using it until I have a reason to change again.

Use QP pretty much exclusively, it's a no brainer tbh. The pin thing is dead handy, works fine for me every time.

Between the PIN thing, the fact that the bus will stop pretty much on your row if you ask, the frequency of the buses, the monitoring of the car park and the transit time it takes to get to T1 QuickPark really is a no brainer. I use it all the time, never use the DAA ones.

That being said, on occassion I've seen the DAA Long Term going to €5 for a prebook but the cheapest I've seen QuickPark go for is €7 when you prebook - it's a fair difference over a two or three week holiday :)

    Still though, top marks ;)

I had my car damaged in the longterm or red car park last week some serious scratch marks on the boot, I have contacted the airport parking people about this matter but I have heard nothing back . Any advice would be appreciated.
