Hi, I am doing a baby cardigan and am confused by a part. I will try summarise what it says! Its for the border part.

'Commencing at lower edge of rib on Right Front pick up and knit ...' which is ok. It then goes up the straight bit and onto shaped bit (its a v-neck). I assume the border is going to go up the middle but then also around the neck?? Should I join the fronts and back as I am doing them? Also it says that I need to pick up across cast off stitches for the sleeves? Where is this referring to? Sorry if this is confusing.

yep sounds right, how many stiches should you have after all the picking up and what size is it, newborn? Is it a raglan sleeve?

Yes it's newborn (or just after it). It is raglan sleeves. Should have 141 stitches.

I don't know what they mean about the sleeves bit. Do I join the raglan part as I am doing it?

There will be a few cast off stitches across the top of the raglan, pick up up the stitches from the front of the cardigan right up the vee, then the few stitches from the top of the raglan, then the cast off stitches from the back neck, the other raglan, and down the other front.

That's is and when you do this you should have 141 stitches, so try take the same amount from each pattern piece you've knitted.

If it is size newborn, 141 sounds about right for the neck band.

Let us know how you are getting on.
