    Hi,

Would anyone know does any of the knitting shops around Dublin be able to help in finishing off a half knitted jumper? I have 3/4 of the front and back knitted but am having problems with the arms and neck. (Tried on many occasions to finish off the jumper ending in disaster. Having to rip the stitches back) The jumper in question in a short sleeve top for a woman and I after all the effort I have put in I wouldn't like to let it go to waste.

    Thanks,
    Buttercup20

Do you know what the pattern is called (designer/number etc)? There could be a mistake in the pattern and an errata may have been published for it. I can check for you on Ravelry if you like.

You could look for local knitting group and bring it along and someone should be able to help you finish it.

I knit, if you're stuck you could post the wool and copy of the pattern to me and I'll knit up the sleeves for you, if you want!
As the other poster said Ravelry.com might have info on errors in this pattern, and that is easy to check.

'this is knit' in the Powerscourt Centre offer 'project help classes' to help with 'stuck' projects. I haven't been to one, ( not based in Dublin) but the staff in the shop always seem very helpful so it might be worth a try. Details on the website. http://www.thisisknit.ie/beginners.php HTH

you can try youtube too - loads of diy videos ;)
i can knit most complicate pattern, but only from top down :D absolutley useless when trying to add sleeves to body (even if knitted right).

I'm awful too but I think next time I'm going to block the pieces before joining them. Do you use stitch markers to join the bits at points around the seam (like you would if you were to pick up and knit)? I find that at least then I can tell if I'm going wrong before I've got all the way around to the end.

Did, but as i knitted different pieces at different times, tension was different and it looked awfull. Now i knit only top down stich less, pleasure! Im starting at neck, cast on until designed width, then knit hands and at last finish body as long as wish. You can see that this top-dress took me 4 evenings, thats including desiding how i want it to look, washing/drying after finished and stiching some beads. Before just thought about adding sleaves gave me headacke :D
