Hawaii - Maui vs Oahu

    Hello everyone! So which is the better island, Maui or Oahu? Who's been? We want lazy, quiet, relaxing days on the beach, coupled with a good night life! Thats simply it! So which of the two above is the best bet for that? Thanks in advance!:)


    Dont know how this thread has ended up in the nocturnal forum, i was full sure i clicked on travel!

    It's a 6hr flight west of la so 16hrs from Ireland,meaning nearly a full day travelling-you will be wrecked and jet lagged for the first few days if you don;t break the trip.
    When we did it,we did a weekend in new york,then 4 days in la,followed by a week in hawaii.
    The big island is fantastic for a laid back visit and has some nice volcano action.Very little night life but we loved it.
    Oahu is where Honolulu is,so lots of night life there but also some lovely countryside and beaches outside the city.
    The city has pearl harbour obviously,well worth see'ing.
    It's the island lost was filmed in and will look familiar from that.
