Have a little dish looks like a silver bird bath (will post pics asap).
The numbers and marks on the bottom are..

    5906

    L & W s EP

Don't think it's worth a lot if anything but just curious as it's been sitting here a long time gathering dust.

Is there anywhere I can take it to find out what the hallmarks mean?

    Hi Sigma ,
here you will find a list of marks for English silver plate .
    http://www.silvercollection.it/electroplatesilverKLdue.html#STAD

Maker is probably Lee and Wigfield , Sheffield .
    ( 5th down on page)

Probably not worth a lot , as it is plated .
the EP mark mean electro-plated , which refers to a technique of fusing the silver coat to the base metal .
