You'll have a longer warranty and a newer design with the C'eed. Also it's considerably more powerful than the Mazda (by about 30 bhp). My sister has one and it's powerful for a 1.4.

However the Mazda has a more appealing interior and probably wont go wrong. If you were looking at the 1.6 Mazda I'd definitely say the go for it. The 1.4 will struggle pulling a heavy car around and as a result be thirsty whereas the 1.6 would be less stressed.

Kia resale values are not strong. Even relatively.

The Kia Pro'ceeed has a really good resale value because they are very scarce and have the 7 year warranty.
I have the 1.6 diesel and have had offers for the car without even advertising it.

Lovely car to drive and I usually get around 55 mpg.

I have a Kia C'eed 1.6 CDRi. Zero problems, 7 yr warranty that applies to the car, not the owner.

Fuel consumption is brilliant circa 750km to a tank (52L) urban and c.1200 long distance. Kept in good condition (i.e. proper servicing) it drives like a dream.

As mentioned already, the warranty is great, plus road tax is considerably lower due to lower CO2 emmissions.

Having driven a good number of cars over the years I can't recommend the C'eed enough.
