This morning we heard a hum/groan in the bathroom, hard to exactly pinpoint either wall or floor. its intermittent, it will hum for 5 seconds, stop for 2 hum for 7 seconds sort of thing. when we turn the taps on it stops for 30 seconds and comes bac (tap still running) we then turn the tap faster and it goes, only to come back, and again we turn the tap faster.

never heard of this before, anyone shed any light???

Hard to pinpoint, been to jobs where a humming pipe just turned out to be two pipes vibrating off each other, and other jobs where a humming pipes turned out to be burst pipes in the walls. Does the noise stop when you turn on the hot or cold tap?
