Force Deleting Files

Not very computer savvy so would appreciate any help that anyone can give.

I have copied all my cd's onto my external hard drive and was backing it up to another drive when I discovered that there are files, most likely multimedia (probably on the original cd's), that are preventing the files copying.

These files are taking up nearly 150 gb so want to get rid of them. The normal delete will not allow it saying that the file is not valid or is too long. If it is of any help the folder and file names seem to be a mish mash of symbols etc.

    Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Boot the computer from a Linux Live CD like Ubuntu and then delete whatever files you want that way.
