Not unless you install something to allow it to play flash, and you can't get iTV outside the UK unless you go through a VPN

Even using skyfire browser which is supposed to play Flash you can't. Shame really

Skyfire goes through servers in the US, so even if they added support for them it still wouldn't work.

Has anyone tried Frash? (jail broken only)

Only got my iPad a few days ago.....want to know if it's worth jail breaking for this?

No. It's hit and miss. Also, there's not many reasons to jailbreak these days IMO. Don't do it just for the sake of it.

If you have Plex installed 4od will work fine through that.

I dont think that is what OP was asking. Correct me if i’m wrong but Plex for Ipad is only extension of Plex server you have to run on your Mac. So for OP to use 4OD he would also need a mac running plex media server.

Yeah, sorry I should have stated you need it running on a Mac.

A lot of the 4OD stuff is on YouTube though, isn't it?

Yeh I personally wouldn't recommend Frash. You have a point about jailbreaking the iPad, it's becoming less and less necessary (unless you love installous) but things like SBsettings are still great. On the other hand, I would never use a stock iPhone. There are so many great tweaks and mods that you would never get if you didn't jailbreak. Pull to refresh, 5 icon dock, barrel, themes, lockinfo, flashlight and other things that make it personal.

Nah, they have it blocked to uk only.

It's nothing major...have an MBP so no big deal, would just be handy for night shifts and the like.

So are we saying it's not worth jailbreaking? I wouldn't trust jailbreaking my iPhone as it's locked to 3.

But with the iPad, as it's not locked to any network etc, surely it doesn't really make a difference as you can just restore, or am I wrong? Can anyone confirm what the negatives or risks are ?

Also, what's this plex thing your speaking of?

Jailbreaking is not overly risky. You can generally restore if there's any problem with your jailbreak. There's always a small chance that it'll be an irreparable problem but I've never encountered anyone who has had that happen or read about anyone having a problem like that on a forum.

The truth is though that now apple have implemented multitasking and have made available apps that let you watch avi files there isn't the same need to jaIlbreak. The only other "pro" is so that you can install cracked apps but not everyone wants to do that.

Plex is a media streaming app but it only works if you have a Mac.

What's the difference if it's locked to Three or not? Jailbreaking has nothing to do with the network it is locked too. I never understand the fear people have with jailbreaking, if anything goes wrong, just restore. There is no difference between jailbreaking an iPad and an iPhone.

The iPad is worth jailbreaking but you can happily do without it. The iPhone, for me and alot of people, is not the same without a jailbreak. Your so limited in what you can do with a stock iPhone and believe me if you see somebody's iPhone with all the useful tweaks and mods compared to a standard iPhone, you won't look at your phone the same.

There are no real negatives of jailbreaking aside from the obvious, if Apple release an update you have to holdoff on updating untill there is a jailbreak for the new software version as if you do, you will lose your jailbreak.

That 4od YouTube channel is very annoying. It says "this channel has been disabled by the owner" even when using a UK VPN. Does anyone know if it's available on iPad in the UK?

I find there is a much more limited selection of YouTube videos available on iPad than can be found on a PC or even the iPod touch.

It work fine in Ireland on a PC, but 4OD on YouTube is blocked on mobile Youtube Apps (i.e iPhone/Android Youtube App, along with iPad App). Little to none premium content is on the mobile Youtube Apps, such as official music videos. Vevo has only begun allowing some of their videos on the Youtube App, but it is Android only for the time being and is ad-supported. I suppose alot of it is down to mobile rights of the content, so isnt strictly Youtube's or the content provider's fault.

Sorry. Getting mixed up between jailbreak and unlock. Last 3GS that I had I bought off adverts, I was told it was factory unlocked, then jailbroken. I updated the iOS and it reverted back to locked to O2.....absolute nightmare.

Since then I've been nervous doing anything out of the ordinary to iPhone or iPad, but I'd be safer doing it to the iPad rather than the iPhone.

I'm 100% mac, have been for years so I'll give that plex a try.

Might also jailbreak the iPhone as well, that mifi or mywifi or whatever you call it app would come in very handy

You should definitely go for it. Agree about the unlocking, it used to be very easy but it can be quite troublesome nowadays and get messy with basebands. Whoever sold you it and said it was factory unlcoked probably didn't know what they were talking about or was just simply a liar.

Hmmm odd, maybe not all their content is available to us because whenever I tried to watch anything it worked.
