Can you make the boot screen look like the spinning icon in this video. That'd be a very nice boot splash compared to the default one.

Yes. It's still pointless eye candy though...

Plymouth manager says I have changed the splash but the default still appears. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Would it be anyway related to a message I get everytime I boot, even before this. It says something like "VGA=769 is depreciated, something something 800x600x8, 800x600"

If I change the resolution to what it says, I get the same message with 640x480 and if I pick 640x480, it says 800x600.

EDIT: Got it working at full 1600x1200 resolution. Something about closed video drivers. :P

I have Solar as my boot splash theme. Pointless eye candy but what the hey.

I installed Plymouth manager today and completely hosed my system. Reformatted and still can't even boot up. Just my experience, but definitely I would say it is really not worth installing this crap.
