I was near Sandyford earlier and there were 3 helicopters flying around above me. I'm presuming it was the law... but do they even have 3 choppers?
Has there been an incident I'm unaware of.

Also has anyone else been about to sleep when these things start flying around your area making an awful racket in the middle of the night. Shouldn't be allowed!

I remember once when we were having a night out in the fields a chopper flew over and had lights shining down on us. Put the sh1ts right through us, I think they were looking for someone else though:P

    Howiye,
We actually have a total of 10 helicopters. There was no incident just top cover for a cash in transit. Dont know the sum involved, could be at least a Billion with the 3 helicopters involved.
Don't be so ignorant you gobshyte, crime doesn't sleep, the Garda helicopter is usually the only machine flying during the night and is a great asset to the Garda Síochána.

You've obviously never had a problem with them flying around your house. They are crazy loud. There's no need for them at night. They don't even have night vision equipment do they.
    :P

you may not be too far away there. there couls have been a large delivery to the mint in sandyford but i doubt it would be the bail out, that would just be an injection into the governments current account i would imagine

During the recent cold snap, an Air Corps crew conducting an Air Ambulance mission brought a sick teen from Cork University Hospital to Baldonnel. Due to the poor visibility, the crew flew the journey from Cork to Dublin using NVE.

So yes, the crews have NVE and yes, they use them when needed.

If you have a lot of visits from them perhaps you should move to a nicer area.

Stop moaning when they're doing work.
You'd prob be the first to complain when they're not around too.

    You're joking, right?
Who'd complain about there being no police helicopters flying around their house in the middle of the night.
We don't need them in this country unless there is something major happening.

Possibly something major that required them. If its happening quiet a lot, then you either live in a **** area or in the flight path of their heli-pad.

What are they doing flying around anyway, they never seem to be following anyone like on cops. They just fly in circles over and over again. I don't live in a **** area either.
