    Hi,

in a bit of a pickle here and need to access some cash (don't we all??)

I have a substantial amount of funds in a US Individual Retirement Account from my time there in the late 80's. I am now over 50 and resident in Ireland.

What is the Irish tax situation if I repatriate some of these funds to Ireland?
Does it make a difference if it is intended to start a business?
Is this treated the same way as a lump sum withdrawal from a pension plan here once you reach 50?

    thank you

    M
