Scholarship questions and DBS dilemma :l

OK im sorry if this question has already been asked or is in the wrong category but i really need help. Im in quite the dilemma here. So I filled out my CAO top ten (havint done it online yet) and showed it to my careers teacher. Most of my choices are computing and computer science orientated (In DIT DCU and UCD mostly). When my careers teacher read my choices she then turned to me and told me I should really go for DBS because there are two scholarships available and I might be in for one (More than likely). My first question is about Scholarships. Can anybody tell me if I get "financial aid", and if they fund you for your whole time in college or just the first year?

My next question is about DBS. I kinda wanted to study in DIT (Its close, good societies and good course), and DBS (No offence to anyone) Seems really crappy and boring (No guitar societie!). Can anybody tell me if DBS is as bad as it seems. Is it worth going to if I get a scholarship? Should I sell my soul for a fun college life?
Please help me out here! :(
