Anyone else tried rinigng around the breakers looking for bits , was looking for a set of brake calipers for a car , they had em ok still on the 99 car they had , and only wanted 350 euros.
Checked in the uk and can buy them new for 35 sterling each. why would you bother?

Depending on the car model, parts can be desirable and people may always be coming in looking for them. This happens a lot particularly with Honda's, any breakers yards that get any of the performance models in usually get rid of most parts on the first day to a week! (meaning they can be very hard to come by as they're so sought after!)

Try finding a breakers that gets a DC2 Type R in...and see how fast the engine and box gets sold, or the Recaro front seats ;)

Or get it from England for about €100 cheaper and pay a lot more to ship it over

ok, let me get this straight.

parts second hand from breakers, 350 euros
parts new from dealer, 35 euros

breakers arent idiots, and i doubht they are looking for a ten fold mark up on second hand goods. somebody has made a mistake somewhere.

i think it must be the dealer. a brand new brake caliper, 35 quid? i think not

That's what I mean't. Most things are just as expensive or more with shipping factored in.

    OP mentioned sterling.

Bought a starting motor from one today, had to ring all of them to get a reasonable price. Stuff is going up!
