The main point of the router for many people would be that you can place it in the best location for reception and have your computer in another nearby location so you most people wouldn't even think of adding a antenna to that unit.

Surely placing the dongle in the best location is the key, not the router?

Would like a recommendation of an antenna for an E122, to be connected to the Dovado router and placed outside on window cill.....

    .....

That router (B260a) takes a SIM directly and doesn't use a separate dongle.

You can stick the dongle for a dovado router on a USB extension lead and put it in a sealed plastic bag and hang it out a window, if that helps, be carful with the USB extension lenght as sometimes you can't get enough power down a 4m extension but the 2m ones normally work OK.

Thanks - that's what i'm currently doing, but would rather have an aerial so I could leave it out permenantly.

Quick question, is the product a suitable external antenna for the above unit ?

    Thanks in advance.

    best regards, peter.

Not sure that antenna has the correct fitting, B260a afaik has a SMA female connector (double check that before you buy), the N-Female used on the antenna in your link is a very different much smaller connector. SMA would be quite a common connection type for antennas so you shouldn't have any problem finding one with the correct plug on it.

Thanks for all the replies, my home office is in a basement in which the reception is non existent, I seem to have good reception on the top floor but I have two hollowcore floors between that and the basement so the wireless signal doesn't stand a chance, in fact I noted the wireless signal won't even make it through one of those floors.

I intend to hook it up to an external antenna and then feed the internet back to the rest of the house via the CAT6 wiring and a WAP on the ground and first floor.

well, at the moment i have my fone acting as my wifi router and it need to be beside the window to pick up a signal. even with the fone from time to time, it changes from a "H" signal of 2-4 mb to a "3G" signal which is no good and can have no connection at another time!... ya so i was thinking that if i put an Aerial on the roof beside the uhf aerial connected to a router ( probably the hauwei b260a router from three)! wondered would this stop the signal loss from time to time! any ideas if this will work or the products to use?!
