Water tank noise...

Can somebody please offer some advise on this problem...

Bought a house a few months ago and did a renovations job -one of the things that needed to be done was to move the attic water tank to a different area of the attic.

When we first bought the house we did notice noise coming from the water tank but didnt think much of it - since the tank has been moved the noise is very loud especially in on of the rooms.

My plumber has advised that we get a jacket for the tank and this should muffle most of the noise - im not convinced.

Can anyone offer any other advise on why this is happening and is there any other way that we could go about to dampen the noise?

    Thanks in advance...

what type of noise is it? is it the noise of the water coming into the tank just? jacket wont help much but u should have one anyway and a lid. some ballvalves allow u to fit a silencer which could be like a piece of pipe which goes down into the water and fills the tank from the base rather than the top
