Odd behaviour with your golf equipment - What's your fetish?

I've been reading all this stuff about Golfgate - from overseas, unfortunately, so the full details are a bit sketchy.

Apparently the famous dinner included Sean Fitzpatrick, a couple of other Anglo heads, and the Taoiseach. And, strangely, the Taoiseach's driver.

I don't know if Mr Cowen normally eats with his driver, or whether his irons, his other woods and maybe even his putter also get a chance to dine with the great man.

The question is, what strange behaviour do you get involved in with your clubs, or your bag, or your other golfing accessories?

I absolutely detest dirty clubs, shoes and wet gear. My iron heads and grooves have to be clean before I hit them and after I've hit them and I never put a dirty club back in the bag. My shoes have to be clean before I play regardless of how mucky the conditions are going to be and regardless of the age of the shoes. This includes my rain gear trousers especially.
When I see lads with caked on muck up both legs of their wet gear after being pulled out of the side pocket of the bag from the previous weeks round and shoes with more muck on them than a tractors wheels, I have to admit I cringe.

Was that bored last weekend I put my new bag on my trolley at home and tightened up the straps just to make sure bag wouldnt fall off .. mad for a game !!!

Not a word of a lie, I have heard of a guy who watches tv with his clubs, if he hits a great shot, say with his 7 iron , well that club will sit beside him on his chair and watch television all night.
Now say he hits a **** shot with ,say a 5 iron, well he leaves that club out in the cold on the windowsill looking in at the clubs that he thinks have done good that day. Crazy crazy people:D

Funniest story ive heard in a long time. Using psycology on his clubs! Priceless. I just hope his 5 iron doesnt start getting a complex from all the neglect.

    Cleaning clubs, shoes and wetgear..........

Ok I'll occasionally give my shoes and clubs a quick wipe in the long grass and maybe once per year will the grips be cleaned but cleaning them before each round; nope.

Have to confess Im a bit of a clean freak too, clubheads, wet gear and shoes in particular have to be clean. I also have to have particular clubs in particular individual slots in my golf bag.

Read somewhere that if Bernhard Langar had a bad round, he would fill a drum with water and place his irons in it overnight to punish them.

Have to have clean clubs and have a thing about the order of the clubs in the bag. Had a friend caddy for me once and I had to go to the bag and re-arrange the clubs in order several times during the round to ease my mind....nuts!!:).

Leave a misbehaving putter in the boot if it doesnt work. That seems to sort them out as they usually behave when they get out.

I also like having different type grips on my wedges, irons and driver/woods.Dont know why i just do.
