Does anyone know anything about this medal? i came across it recently when visiting a fellow collector.
who is entitled to wear it? Just ONE members or ayone who served in the FCA during 1946-96?
I think it was silver with a green ribbon. It may not have been offically issued at all.

Check the link below - is this the medal you mean?

Irish medals are quite expensive and there are an awful lot of repros out there sold as originals. And it is very hard to tell the difference

it is. it seems to be unofficial.

its hard to get information on some Irish medals, although Jim Hogan brought out a book on them 20 years ago.

repros can be a problem. they is a crowd in Belfast selling repros of modern PDF badges and in Australia there is a developing market for fake 1916.

a service medal seem to retail at around 80 euro, which is not cheap, but they can be as rare as hens teeth.
