Filter Function in Excel 2007

I have recently upgraded to Excel 2007 and the filter function is slowing me down and need some help.

In Excel 2003, I used to have the filter shortcut button on my toolbar so that when I clicked on it, it would filter on the value in the active cell.

Clicking the filter button on the toolbar in 2007 does not do the same. If I want to filter on a single value, I have to either copy and paste that value into the custom field or scroll down until I've found my value in the drop down list which can be slow if I've loads of values.

This is a real pain in the a*** as it means that if I want to filter on a single value I have to perform at least 3 key strokes in order to do what took me one in 2003.

Does anyone know if there is a quick filter function in 2007, or is this a limitation in the 2007 filter function?

If you right click on the "ribbon" in excel 2007, you can chcose "Customize Quick Access Toolbar". Under that you can choose "Customize" and in the "Choose Commands From" drop-down you can pick "Home Tab" from there you can drag & drop "Filter" to your quick access toolbar - it shows up on the Top Left of the screen beside the "Save" icon.

    Hope that helps

    This might help:
You can right click on the cell in Excel 2007 and choose Filter>by selected cell value
