UK Fees and Entry Requirements

    Hey guys,

In the past week I have dropped out of college and was in 2nd year. I want to study another course and was looking at the tuition fees in DCU and are roughly 6,500, which is fairly expensive. Just a quick question regarding UK tuition fees..

    1) Is the tuition fee (£3,290) all I would have to pay to attend the university? I have researched living fees and everything but find this price amazing compared to DCU...

    2) What are the requirements relative to our leaving cert? I have an ok leaving cert (365 points), what way do they accept people?

    Thanks for your help.

    Moved to new thread

    1) Yes, the tuition fee you see is the one you pay.

    2) The websites and course directories of the college(s) you're interested in will usually give entry requirements for both UK and Irish students eg:

    A level
A minimum of 240 UCAS Tariff Points to include grades CC.

    Irish Leaving Certificate
A minimum of 240 UCAS Tariff Points to include grades BBCCC.

Information on how they convert the Leaving results to tariff points is listed here.

Given the tories have announced fee increases in England I'd imagine the same will happen in NI and Wales. I don't know what year this will begin but it is worth checking out as they will probably be more than the equivelent of E6500

That said they have a loan system in place for EU students so you don't have to pay them back until you are in employment post graduation

OP is money is a issue Scotland is still free fees (plus no massive reg fee) for eu students studying in scotland for the first time as a undergrad. The tories haven't control over the scots system.

That is how much per year by the way and if you go in 2011 you avoid the fee increases and have to only pay that amount set each year.
