Shameless plugs on Ireland AM

While watching TV3's Ireland AM today (the remote control is broken, honest) I was intrigued by a ten-minute spot for a lady who takes wedding pictures for a living. The channel is also running a competition where the winner gets their wedding pics taken by the same lady. I thought it was very generous of TV3 to give this photographer free publicity like this, especially as today's show is a wedding special and therefore many potential customers would be watching.

The fact that this lady is the partner of the man who co-hosts The Morning Show later on the same channel and who also reads out the weather forecast on their evening news must surely be entirely coincidental.

    Sounds very dodgy.

Lodge a formal complaint against TV3 with the BAI. It's very easy to do. At the very least, it'll annoy TV3 as they will have to formally investigate and respond.

Thanks for that. I only twigged as well this morning that their resident 'stylist' Tori Keane is a sister of a former TV3 presenter who had a big falling out with the channel when she left them and then decided to write a book about it all which no-one has bought. Lord knows what else is going on in that place.

I remember a while back George Hook having his son on his radio show giving away a weekend or something at the hotel he runs after getting 5 minutes or to talk about how great the place was.

I sent a text in a the time saying "I wish my Dad had a radio show that I could promote my business on" but it wasn't read.

To be fair to TV3, they know how to turn a pound note while kinda fulfilling the terms of their licence.

They're just behind City Channel in terms of paid for programming.

RTE aren't much better - witness Tubridy talking about JFK on his radio show all the time, and getting to make a TV documentary about JFK - and, surprise, surprise, he's selling a book. (And getting artist's exemption, of course)
