Very Bad Speed on 3

I just got going with 3 on the NBS scheme and I am very dissapointed with the speed. It is less than 1mg download speed, Modem is E122. I had tested a friends dongle out a few months ago here and I could get speeds of 2mg to 3.5mg. Any ideas how to improve things. Stan

Speeds on a 3G network vary, especially over long a long time frame. There's usually nothing you can do about it.

However Three are contractually obilged to provide a Minimum 1.2Mbps or maybe 1.6Mbps and if they can't arrange that to give you a free satellite service install (worth over €500) and connection at same monthly rate.

This what the National Broadband scheme is supposed to deliver contractually:
“A service with a minimum download speed of 1.6Mbps and maximum of 6.8Mbps with a contention ratio of 22:1 has been made available for 235,000 premises across every county in Ireland. Built into the contract is a provision that speeds will be increased to a maximum of 10 Mbps by October 2012.”

Thanks for the replies. The speed is worse this night around 0.3m/bs on average. Rang 3 no satisfaction, told me to keep the speeds reviewed for the next 24 hrs, not much help there.

Just a Update on my problem with 3. I find the speeds can be quite good early in the morning and very late at night, but in the evening it is vey bad.
