No cold water in bathroom sink or cistern..

I have plenty hot water but no cold water in my upstairs bathroom.Our electric shower is working fine too, as well as the sink in the kitchen.I've tried runnin' the hot water in my bathroom sink through a pipe back up through the cold tap, but it doesn't really solve anything...what else could i try? Should I take more…

Should I take more time?..I let it run for half an hour yesterday, but nothing changed..Sometimes the toilet cistern will fill when I attempt this alright, but that's all.
I don't know a whole lot about these things, so any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

make sure the toilet cistern is filled up before u try and blow the hot up the cold on the tap
