car radio in safe mode after flat battery

    Hi all,
    the other halfs seat leon 2002 car radio is stuck in safe mode after her battery ran flat. Any ideas on how to get it back to normal so she can have some music while she drives our little one around ?

    when this happened to me I checked manual to see where car was bought originally and they were able to give me the code to get it up and running again, hope this helps

    You'll need the code, It'll be in your manuals. If you don't have them or the code you'll have to ring a dealer with your chassis number or reg.

    You need to get the radio code. Some people write this on the handbook(not recommended). Alternatively you could contact the Seat dealer and they will get for you. They may charge you though.

    Try some basic codes first like 0000, 1234, 1111, 6789, 7890, 9999 etc, most likely last owner used something like that.

    Don't most radios have a lock out after x attempts or do they allow you try again 24 hours later?

    The code has nothing to do with the owner, it comes from the manufacturer.

    hi all, i have the code, but when i press the PTY button on the radio nothing happens and the word SAFE remains on the display... any other hints on how to progress? ive tried it with the car on, off and running...

    Most likely you've already tried a couple of times and the system is making you wait before trying again. Leave the radio on for an hour or so, you'll probably be given another chance. Make sure you're clear on how to enter the correct code before trying, as the unit will become progressively less forgiving of mistakes.
