the euro is about to bounce back big time for at least a while , the news on portugal yesterday and spain today has taken the wind out of the doomsday merchants for the single currency , gold is in for a serious correction in the short term as the euro crisis was the only thing keeping it up , what with america having turned a corner

I don't know Bob, I`m thinking that the Germans are n`t far away from agreeing to turn on the printing presses. Its the only way the euro zone will get the debt monkey off its back.

There has been plenty of discussion suggesting 'parity' is realistic, as soon as this July according to some. Although this would be a rather extreme decline, is it really so far outside the bounds of the possible? $1.15 - $1.20 would be the lowest I would personally imagine the Euro dropping but I certainly would not bet much against parity, as dramatic as it may sound.

Parity I believe was the hoped for value of the Euro at it's inception, encouraging trade between the U.S. and the Eurozone, the Euro's strength against the Dollar contributed to an unexpected increase in bottom lines for U.S. companies in those early days.

Personally I will benefit enormously the more the Euro weakens, all of my assets being in USD.

the debt monkey is of the euros back ( for another few months at least ) as shown by the reduced price at the bond auction yesterday , the OP is talking about changing back to euro from sterling , based on the last few days events , i reckon its a good time to get back into the euro

It's heading to the dustbin or serious devaluation at the very minimum, the current rally won't last...just wait until the debt problems of Spain and Italy surface.
