Every school does their own timetable.

It varies from school to school but I believe it's generally the 7th-18th of February.
And then after you're done, it's the mid-term where you can either relax or study some more!
On that note, I'm gonna start studying seriously for the Mocks this weekend.

The problem is that Easter is very late this year and the orals/practical will take up the first half of April, so there isn't a lot of time to do remedial work if the mocks go badly.
There will be very little time after Easter.

Our Pres start after the mid-term break, and are on for two weeks.

At least we have a week for cramming.

You've only 10 posts. If you think Boards is going to be a serious distraction, leave while you have the chance :P

Just wondering if you all have to pay for the mocks? I had to pay 120 euro.

Serious? We haven't heard anything about that yet.

Our Woodwork teacher told us we would have to pay a fiver if we wanted to get our Woodwork test corrected by someone else, but that's it so far.

I didn't pay it, even though I'd rather my teacher didn't correct my Pre.

Are they optional though? I know my parents certainly wouldn't [be able to] pay that, and I'd rather go without the Mocks than waste that money.

I found out after I paid it that it was optional. Only a few kids haven't paid it and they can't do the mocks.

To be honest, I think you would be better off not paying for the Mocks. Just print an old exam paper from examinations.ie for each subject, and get your son or daughter to sit it in exam circumstances. Hand the papers into your child's teachers and ask them if they will correct it. I'm pretty sure nearly every teacher will be more than happy to help.

I should have done that with my son. Especially given the fact that I had to write for him at home (he has special needs).
With my daughter though she is so stressed about the whole Junior cert. that I think she needs to do the mocks at school so she'll get to see what it's like and hopefully find that it's nothing to worry about.
